Weekend Events

The La Quinta Resort and Club is at the base of the Santa Rosa mountains, about a ten minute drive down the road from our wedding venue. We will host a few different weekend activities here and will be staying here ourselves! La Quinta Resort & Club

The Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) is the closest airport in the area, about 20 miles away from the hotel block and wedding site. It's a small airport, so flights can be a little limited and sometimes expensive. If PSP is not an option, we recommend flying into Los Angeles (LAX), Burbank (BUR), or Orange County (SNA) and renting a car from there. The drive from Los Angeles to Palm Springs is about 3 hours, depending upon traffic. The drive from Orange County is about 2 and a half. Please note the traffic can be a little unpredictable, so we advise allowing plenty of time to catch flights home!

Flights

If you're traveling with a larger party or want flexibility outside of a hotel, there are lots of great rental options in the area! We recommend staying somewhere in the Indian Wells or La Quinta area where most of the activities will be hosted.

The <a href="https://www.miramonteresort.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Miramonte Indian Wells Resort and Spa</a>, <a href="https://thechateau.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Chateau at Lake La Quinta</a>, <a href="https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/pspsr-renaissance-esmeralda-resort-and-spa-indian-wells/overview/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Renaissance Esmerelda Resort</a>, and <a href="https://www.hyatt.com/en-US/hotel/california/hyatt-regency-indian-wells-resort-and-spa/champ" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort </a>are all close to the venue with good rate options. We recommend booking early as prices will go up closer to the holiday!

Travel

Palm Springs is famous for its midcentury modern architecture, shopping, spas, art galleries, restaurants and more. The downtown shopping area is mainly on Palm Canyon Drive, between Ramon Road and Alejo Road, with lots of art galleries, antique stores, vintage clothing shops, and cool home goods stores. If you go north on Palm Canyon Drive, you'll find yourself in the&nbsp;Uptown Design District. This is a two-mile stretch of retail with a heavy focus on mid-century modern art, style, and design. There are a lot of galleries, interior design shops, and home goods stores. Close by is the Tennis Club Neighborhood, where you'll see lots of examples of midcentury modern architecture.

Downtown Palm Springs

Joshua Tree National Park&nbsp;is a popular destination for overnight campers, but you can explore plenty in a single afternoon, too, from an easygoing&nbsp;hike around&nbsp;Hidden Valley to&nbsp;vistas from 5,000 feet up at Keys View. If you’re coming from Palm Springs, you’ll want to enter from the northwest entrance in Joshua Tree; if you’re coming from La Quinta the south entrance is the closest, but it's a bit further from some of the park's main attractions.

Joshua Tree National Park

Palm Springs is home to some of the best golf courses in the world. There are 90 holes at La Quinta, where our wedding block is, with 3 PGA courses. Other popular courses in the area include Indian Wells Golf Resort (where the wedding will be!), Desert Willow Ridge, the Classic Club, and more.

Golf

Indian Wells is home to the BNP Open, a major tennis tournament, with lots of great public courts to play on. The La Quinta Resort has 23 tennis courts and 8 pickleball courts.

Tennis and Paddle Sports

This hike is an easy to moderate two-mile loop that leads to a 50-foot waterfall tucked into Tahquitz Canyon. The falls are located within the Agua Caliente Band of the Cahuilla Indians reservation, so you’ll need to pay a $12.50 admission fee.
